So far, the topics covered have been excellent, I am now listening to this lecture from Shaykh Safiur Rahman Al-Mahmudi so as to understand what hadeeth is all about. I had previously taken two semesters of Islamic Studies at college level but these "esoteric" areas are not fully understood without additional study (which was not offered for some reason). Asalamualaikum, this has been a great eye opener and only underlines the greatness of our beloved messenger (saw) and how we should try to make his sunnah an established way of life for us through our daily deeds. I am someone who has been read private shaykh, and after listening to this lecture it gives me an insight that the highest level of knowledge (tawheez) can be obtained by using the above mentioned sciences and we should apply it positively and not solely for our benefit. The book can be referred to as the most comprehensive treatise on hadeeth that has ever been written in Arabic or any other language. Shaykh Safiur Rahman Al-Mahmudi has taken great pains to explain all the sources of hadith mentioned in Tirmidhi's collection.
