This is the most useful book in the world. There are thousands of copies written in different languages and dialects. It has been translated into seventy-nine languages and published in almost one hundred countries, becoming a primer for about a third of the world's population. It is a single volume that covers a wide range of topics from religion to philosophy, teaching morals and good character traits along with providing an overview of history, literature, geography and more. Its author was born around 825 AH (1400 CE) but its influence on Islam today can be seen throughout Muslim history as well as on non-Muslims such as Jewish children who used it to learn Arabic vocabulary before it was banned by Muslims due to some controversial passages. This book is also known as "Kutub al-Sittah" (, "the Six Books", the name given to the last three books of old Arabic literature), or simply "al-Sahifah", meaning "The Six". It has also been referred to as the "Jawami'al-Kalam" ("The Fifth Book of Knowledge"). The book was first published in 1350, at a time when most books of knowledge were being printed in Egypt. Apart from its primary purpose, which is instruction in Islamic tenets, the book also contains significant information on history, society and culture. Omar Khayyam's poem is part of this collection. This book contains the following: Due to the vastness and variety of topics, Islamic scholars have various opinions about what is "essential" and what can be omitted, as well as how it should be presented to modern readers. Some scholars such as Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 1328) felt that nothing should be added or left out; others such as al-Ghazali (d. 1111) felt that not all of the Prophet's words were needed and some had to be removed; others such as Ibrahim al-Qari (d. 1285) felt that many topics could be elaborated on. The following are some Islamic scholars who have compiled Al-Sahih Al-Musnad in the way they felt is correct: Here are some bilingual translators of Sahih Bukhari into English that have been published recently, as well as the date of their publication. Sahih Bukhari is being translated into English by MSA. Safi Al-Bassam is the author of "Essence of Islam: A Muslim's Approach to Living". This book is a very useful one for those people who prefer to read with understanding, as it includes Islamic teachings with emphasis on the practical aspects. Reading Al-I'tiqadat or "Furqan" by Ibn Rushd (Averroes) will provide you with a detailed, scholarly discussion of many principles that are widely held by Muslims.
